Special Service for Bishop Auckland Food Festival

Sunday 19th April 2026

Times:

 

First train departs Stanhope at 0945 and Bishop Auckland West at 1100. Last train departs Stanhope at 1545 and Bishop Auckland West at 1655. The second service of the day will run non-stop between Stanhope and Bishop Auckland. The full timetable for this weekend can be found below.

Stanhope, Frosterley, Kingfisher Halt, Wolsingham, Witton-le-Wear and Bishop Auckland West

The popular Bishop Auckland Food Festival will take place on the weekend of the 18th and 19th April. To coincide with this event, the Weardale Railway will operate a special timetable using one of our diesel railcars.

 

Residents of the dale will be able to travel to the food festival by rail, whilst visitors to the food festival can also visit Weardale. The Platform 1 tearoom, craft shop and Weardale Railway Trust gift shop will be open at Stanhope Station on both days.

Whole Line Day Rover Fares:

Adult - £16.00

Senior - £14.00

Kids for a Quid - Up to two children can travel for £1 each when accompanied by a fare paying adult.

Tickets can be purchased at Stanhope Station or onboard the train using cash or card. Alternatively you can pre-book tickets online for journeys from Stanhope and Bishop Auckland stations by visiting https://weardale-railway.digitickets.co.uk/tickets (or via the 'Book Tickets' button).
