HOW LONG IS THE JOURNEY?

The journey between Stanhope and Bishop Auckland takes 55 minutes, a journey between Stanhope and  Wolsingham will take 20 minutes, and between Stanhope and Witton le Wear  40 minnutes. A full line round trip from Stanhope to Bishop Auckland and back and back will take just over two hours.

DISABLED ACCESS

There are disabled car parking spaces at Stanhope, Frosterley and Wolsingham Stations. There are disabled toilet facilities at Stanhope station.  A ramp is available for wheelchair access to the train at all stations. Staff are always happy to help.

ARE DOGS ALLOWED?

Yes. But please not on the seats.

ARE THERE GROUP FARES?

Yes, special rates will be offered for pre booked groups and for school or club visits. Please contact the Railway beforehand at

info@weardale-railway.org.uk or call.

ARE THERE FAMILY FARES?

Yes. For example a full line (Stanhope & Witton le Wear ) return will cost £36 for 2 Adults and up to 3 children (aged 5 to 15 years).   Similarly a Family ticket between Stanhope and Wolsingham will cost £23. 

ARE THERE TOILET FACILITIES?

There are toilets at Stanhope station and there is a portable toilet at Wolsingham station. There are no toilets on the train.
