Enjoy Weardale's dark skies!

The experience commences from 1730 at Stanhope Station with exciting space themed activities for all the family. This will be followed by a train ride departing at 1800 from Stanhope to a unique location where you will disembark and enjoy stargazing using telescopes and while listening to our experts from the Bishop Auckland Astronomical Society.

Pre-booking is essential - includes light refreshments and a space themed gift for all the children. You will need to bring along folding chair. You should be aware that the experience means you will be climbing on and off the train so suitable footwear and a reasonable level of fitness is required.

Please note in the event of cloudy skies the event will still go ahead however the telescope experience will be replaced with an alternative activity.
