There has been much progress on the new connecting path between the mainline station at Bishop Auckland and the Weardale Railway platform over the past month by contractors CML on behalf of Network Rail. New fencing has been erected along the length of the path and the ramps are in an advanced state of construction. Further works will include the installation of additional fencing, kerbs and handrails on the ramps. Completion of the new path is expected during July and will be ready for use when services are re-established from Weardale to Bishop Auckland.
