The Auckland Project, owners of the Weardale Railway, will be holding a series of public events to outline the details of their bid for funding to upgrade the rail infrastructure between Darlington and Weardale, as part of the Government’s £500 million Restoring Your Railway programme. The application will be submitted this summer.
This is a great opportunity for local communities to speak to those involved in the bid, ask questions and find out how upgrades to the line can benefit the communities along the line and regenerate the local economy.
