Enjoy a family day out in Weardale by train during the school summer holidays as kids travel for a quid!

With the summer holidays just round the corner it's easy to have an affordable day out with the kids – buy one valid adult ticket on Weardale Railway services and take up to two children with you for £1 each. This promotion is running throughout the school summer holiday.

Wolsingham has lots of amenities, a great recreation park for all ages, indoor swimming pool, a café, gift shop and grocers. Tunstall Reservoir is a short walk away - a perfect spot for a picnic in breathtaking surroundings.

Stanhope is a picturesque haven for visitors amidst beautiful scenery; the peaceful waters of the River Wear provide an idyllic backdrop for those who enjoy being outdoors and active too. Don't miss the opportunity to see the famous fossil tree which is approximately 320 million years old!

There are lovely walks from the village of Witton-le-Wear to Witton Castle through woodland, lakes and along the riverbank. Witton Castle has a café and seeing the resident peacocks is always a treat!
