Weardale Railway announces plans to run monthly Cream Tea Trains
New for 2018, Weardale Railways will be running a monthly afternoon Cream Tea Trains from 11 March, which is Mother’s Day. Our volunteer’s will once again be assisting in the operation of these trains which run alongside Heritage Services. Tickets are only available by pre-booking @ Bishop Trains 01388-661394 (Option 3)
Take a gentle journey down the scenic Wear Valley in a luxurious first class railway coach while enjoying a sumptuous cream tea. Your food will be home made, with locally-produced constituents, and will be served at your table. Tea or coffee, with endless refills, is included in the price
Your journey will commence at the market town of Stanhope with one of the highlights being a stop on top of the Etherley Viaduct which is more than 100 feet high and from which you will be able to take in outstanding views of the surrounding scenery. Your journey will take two hours and during it you will see parts of the valley that are full of wildlife and natural beauty.
Your ticket price includes the two-hour rail trip in first class, a cream tea with unlimited hot drinks and your guaranteed seat reservation.
Trains will run as follows:-
March 11 – Mothering Sunday
Child = £20
(no senior discount)
Departure Time = 1345 each day
(Returns to Stanhope 1600hrs)
