The 28 October saw the final heritage service run between Stanhope and Bishop Auckland West. The Class 122 heritage diesel railcar has performed well, being the mainstay of travel for our visitors, seeing use for a number of specials and excursions in addition to weekend running. We would like to say a massive thank you to all our visitors, our dedicated volunteers and supporters in what has been another successful year.
Unfortunately our volunteers were unable to bring into service the recently purchased Class 108 2 car DMU, partly due to difficulties in obtaining the correct brake blocks and availability of volunteer time, who were busy with the operation of the heritage service. It doesn’t stop here for our volunteers who will be supporting the safe operation of The Train to Christmas Town - Weardale Railway we hope to see you there.
Planning for 2019 has commenced... we hope to be able offer more next year! Would you like to be part of this and become a volunteer?
