108 2-car unit arrives at Wolsingham Depot

Under grey sky’s the Weardale Railway Trust recent purchase of a 2 car 108 DMU from the Bodmin Railway arrived on the back of two low loaders on Tuesday afternoon.

 

The Trust had received confirmation on Monday afternoon that Reid’s had arrived to collect the 108 as planned and were loading hoping to get to Taunton that evening. An uneventful trip North meant, an on time arrival at Wolsingham to be placed onto the Weardale Railway.

 

Trust Chairman Kevin Richardson was on hand at the depot to welcome the 108. He reported, “Before going into service on the heritage timetable, the unit will require a fitness to run exam, service and clean.”
