WORK TO START ON NEW WEARDALE RAILWAY STATION :

KINGFISHER HALT

Weardale Railway Trustees have confirmed at their Board meeting on 10th March that work will commence on installing the platform at the Kingfisher Caravan site between Frosterley and Wolsingham.  All the components are ready to be moved to the site as soon as lockdown restrictions are lifted – this will probably be  in early April.

The platform will be a conditional halt  ( i.e. the train guard needs to be informed that passengers wish to alight and platform passengers have to clearly hail the train ). The platform is easily accessible via the Weardale Way footpath, a public right of way. There is no public road access or parking at the station.
