The single car heritage 122 unit was finally released from Wolsingham Depot today after the over running of winter maintenance program resulted in last Sunday’s trains cancelled.
The 122 was released this afternoon running to Stanhope. This was a great relief to volunteers operating Heritage Services and means that trains can run over the Easter period as planned. Winter repairs to the left side engine and other cosmetic work had prevented an earlier release from depot.
The arrival of the 108 2 car unit will provide added interest and back up in situations such as this, reducing the likelihood of services needing to be cancelled. The Weardale Railway Trust are pleased the 122 single car unit is back in service.
First train is 1030 from Stanhope on Friday 30 March.
